Data Architect
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role include:
- Develop and implement accurate, consistent and secure data sets supporting key business processes and decisions.
- Leverages strong knowledge of traditional data warehousing, data structures and tools. Organizes data into the optimal data structures flexible to cross-functional and cross-process data needs.
- Develops and maintains through collaboration with colleagues a business-driven data pipeline optimized to the business needs; able to identify and proactively transition pipeline to IT when appropriate.
- Leverages an understanding of data systems and business process into definition and delivery of innovative data integration solutions
- Continuously Improves data and drive business data processes supporting key business process and decisions
- Strong sense of ownership and problem-solving mentality
- Supports functional and analytics users by simplifying multiple data sources queries, identifying optimal ways to prepare and navigate datasets, implementing data quality control and timely communication of data issues or gaps
- Adaptive to changing tools, technologies, and data environments
- Responsible for delivering collaboratively built cross-functional insight
- Provides technical leadership in a small team format to understand, design and deliver a maintainable data pipeline
- Uses business acumen and functional stakeholder input to understand data needed for process enablement, to locate the needed data, and to translate to the right granularity.
- Drives the common understanding of key performance indicators and metrics needed to make business critical decisions and drive business results
- Builds strong relationships across leaders and IT Data Stewards and Data Support team, Data Governance and Crop Science
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Comp Sci, Business Intelligence, Data Science or related field
- 5+years experience working with data
- Specific knowledge of Data Historian and Denodo/Data Virtualization
- Domain knowledge in data process automation, scheduling and data architecture using SQL, Python, R, SAS, or other common languages
- Experience leveraging one or more tools in Data Integration
- Experience leading small project teams. Collaborative team-focused delivery experience
- High degree of business acumen in the areas of relating data to business process drivers and performance management. Proven experience defining and delivering metrics in a data architecture to support reporting and analysis.
- Demonstrated strong oral and written communication, persuasiveness, and ability to communicate complex analytical approaches to a all levels of business leadership
Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $118,554.40 - $177,831.60 Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc.. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
