Transportation Specialist: Barge | |||||

What You Will Do
This role is responsible for coordinating and optimizing the movement of daily outbound product shipments to meet customer demands and inbound raw material and component shipments to meet site consumption requirements. This role also provides technical support for related on-site service providers, off-site warehouses and terminals, and various other distribution related business activities and contracts. In particular, the incumbent will focus on bulk marine and barge logistics. This role reports to the Head of Logistics Operations.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Ability to work as an individual contributor and as part of a diverse team composed of engineers, operations personnel, and leadership.
- Support onsite customers inbound raw material and component shipments, including scheduling, tracking, tracing, and expediting.
- Perform work in a manufacturing environment, which includes wearing PPSs visiting the Manufacturing areas and follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
- Become a SAP.TLM User Expert and support area SAP/TLM end users with daily issues.
- Ensure site compliance with DOT regulations.
- Manage multiple activities at one time and handle long term projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 10 years of experience in manufacturing/supply chain organization or BA/BS in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related field with a minimum of 5+ years in a manufacturing/supply chain organization or MBA/MS with 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing/supply chain organization;
- Experience within a Supply Chain/Logistics Operation (Ocean, Inland Waterway, Truck and Storage) of Bulk Liquid Operations ;
- Experience with rules and regulations surrounding the transportation and warehousing of dangerous goods;
- Experience with SAP modules such as Production and Planning (PP- Skills & Qualifications: OPO, PP-PI, Logistics Information System, and TLM) and MS Office applications;
- Knowledge of business processes in one or more area of material management, logistics, quality management, or production planning;
- Strong oral and written communication skills.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of $ 64,232.80 – 96,349.20 per year. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
