Tech Agronomist III: Northern Michigan
Position Overview:
As an Agronomy Specialist, you play a crucial role in supporting our field scale testing programs and ensuring successful delivery of squad goals. Collaborate with seed dealers and growers to plant trials, collect data, and maintain and harvest trials. Provide technical support and training for seed dealers and Bayer squad to communicate the agronomic value of seed and crop protection products. Your leadership will build presence and credibility with key growers, seed dealers, crop consultants, and other stakeholders. Develop and execute tactics to support business strategies and objectives while ensuring compliance with Bayer's safety and vehicle policies. Travel is approximately 60%, involving significant face-to-face customer interaction to enable squad and customer success.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and execute field scale testing programs;
- Support the successful delivery of squad goals through collaboration;
- Collaborate with seed dealers and growers for trial planting and data collection;
- Provide technical support and training to seed dealers and Bayer squad;
- Communicate the agronomic value of seed and crop protection products;
- Develop an Agronomy Plan for squad alignment;
- Build credibility with key growers and stakeholders;
- Plan and execute tactics for business strategies and objectives;
- Lead local portfolio management and future forecasting;
- Evaluate new products for future forecasting and market strategy;
- Ensure compliance with Bayer safety and vehicle safety policies;
- Steward product use recommendations for the local territory;
- Manage Product Performance Inquiry claims in alignment with guidelines;
- Launch new products and deliver high-quality work independently.
WHO YOU ARE:
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree;
- Degree completion required by start date;
- Valid driver's license required;
- Ability to obtain a DOT license;
- Ability to lift 60 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6 years (BS), 4 years (MS), or 3 years (Ph.D.) of experience in agronomy, sales, field development, or R&D related roles;

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $90814.63 - 136221.95. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Other benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. If selected for this role, the offer may vary based on market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
