YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

You will work collaboratively with other team members to deliver daily and weekly targets under tight deadlines. Additionally, you will Identify opportunities for system or process improvements, operates automation, and performs experiments.

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, R&D Specialist I, are to: 

 

  • Deliver on daily/weekly targets;
  • Prioritize and coordinate work within a large team and provides training to contingent workforce; 
  • Maintain detailed record keeping and required documentation; 
  • Have primary or shared responsibility for high throughput sterile lab;
  • Accountable for cross-functional work in multiple process areas;
  • Adhere to established protocols and techniques;
  • Solve problems with others using multiple data sources;
  • Achieve commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols and best practices;
  • Perform a variety of experiments with accuracy; demonstrates knowledge of specialized laboratory and scientific techniques;
  • Use specialized scientific techniques to conduct experiments and implement process improvements;
  • Solve problems of routine scope and optimizes workflows;
  • Validate methods using multiple data sources;
  • Prepare, communicate, and interpret results of complex experiments, production KPIs, and lab related issues to partners and key stakeholders;
  • Be skilled in organizing and reporting based on specialized reports, including analyzing and interpreting the results of experiments, production KPIs, cost/benefit analysis, and lab related issues to partners and key stakeholders;
  • Thrive on meeting challenges, insist on high quality deliverables, demonstrate effective problem-solving skills;
  • Have proven initiative in some categories of accomplishments, either individually or as part of a group and show initiative in keeping abreast of literature in field of interest.

 

WHO YOU ARE

 

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

 

 Required Qualifications:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED;
  • Strong understanding of basic laboratory techniques and experimental design;
  • Specialized laboratory experience with the mechanical aptitude for operating and troubleshooting automation;
  • Proficiency with data analysis and visualization software;
  • Must possess agility and adaptability to keep up with changing company priorities and balance multiple projects simultaneously.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • B.S. with minimal experience in academia or industry; OR
  • High School Diploma or GED with 8 years relevant experience.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $50,782.40 to $76,173.60. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
